Sporting Opportunities For All is currently searching for local Sports coaches to the communities of Barnet, Brent, Hillingdon, Harrow and Watford.
We are looking for an all-rounder in the delivery of high quality, multi-skills sport and single sports sessions such as football and physical activity coaching in inner city, multicultural settings. At SOFA you will contribute to the planning and development of sporting opportunities for the whole community, utilising school sports facilities and promoting the benefits of lifelong involvement in sport to staff and the community. Your primary role, however, will be to develop, structure and deliver progressive and enjoyable sessions that engage, benefit and meet the needs of all, including people with disabilities.
A strong customer service ethic is essential, underpinned by good administrative skills and proactive approach to the health and safety issues involved.
Our programmes run during and after school, Week evenings ,weekends and school holidays.
About the job:
To deliever coaching to young people in the 5-18 age group in local leisurefacilities, schools, community and club settings.
To take a professional approach in the planning, preparation and organsation of coaching sessions.
To maintain a comprehensive schedule of coaching as established and administered by S.O.F.A Community Sports Manager Jay Marshall
To introduce leadership skills to young people.
About you:
You will have good experience of coaching children and young people.
You are willing to do further training to keep up to date with different requirements set out by schools, local community and sports governing bodies.
A level 2 national governing body qualification in a sport (or be working towards a level 2). We accept C.S.L.A and level 1 coaches but they would need to understand the importance of obtaining a level 2 qualification.
Access to a vehicle will assist in application.
